Texheritage Bangladesh – Museum of Textile has announced a new initiative to support textile engineering, fashion design, apparel, and garment students in their academic research, university projects, and practical learning.
As part of its commitment to textile education, research, innovation, and heritage preservation, the museum is opening selected resources and knowledge to support small groups of students working on textile-related academic and research projects.
Supporting Students Beyond the Classroom
The initiative aims to bridge the gap between textbook-based education and practical textile knowledge by providing students with opportunities to explore real textile materials, industry knowledge, and Bangladesh’s rich textile heritage.
Students may receive support in areas including:
- Research Support: Guidance on textile history, materials, manufacturing processes, and industry-related research.
- Project Ideas: Practical and innovative concepts for textile, apparel, fashion, and garment projects.
- Fabric & Trims: Opportunities to study different fabrics, trims, textile samples, and materials for academic purposes.
- Basic to Advanced Textile Knowledge: Learning support covering fibre, yarn, fabric construction, dyeing, finishing, garment manufacturing, sourcing, and related areas.
- Industry Insights: Practical knowledge and perspectives from Bangladesh’s textile and apparel industry.
- Textile Heritage: Exposure to traditional fabrics, indigenous textile techniques, and the historical development of Bangladesh’s textile sector.
Connecting Education with Real-World Textiles
Texheritage Bangladesh believes that textile education becomes more meaningful when students can touch, observe, compare, research, and understand real textile materials.

Limited Support for Student Groups
The initial program will provide support to a limited number of small student groups to ensure meaningful interaction, focused guidance, and effective use of the museum’s available resources.
