Why I Am Investing in Museum based Fashion Research for Bangladesh’s Future?

Founder’s Voice | Texheritage Bangladesh Museum

As a Founder of Texheritage Bangladesh Museum and a Textile Researcher, I strongly believe that Bangladesh is entering a new era — one where research will define our global position in fashion.

For decades, we have proven our strength in manufacturing. Now, the opportunity lies in material innovation, sustainable processing, technical textiles, and heritage-based research & styling development. From jute, muslin, cotton, and khadi to smart fabrics and advanced knitting technologies, the scope for structured research is vast.

Bangladesh has the capability to lead in circular production models, low-impact finishing, and fiber development — but this requires deeper collaboration between industry, academia, and cultural institutions.

Through Texheritage, my mission is to preserve textile history while building a knowledge platform that encourages research-driven innovation. Our heritage is rich, our technical base is strong, and our future depends on how we integrate tradition with technology.

Bangladesh can move beyond manufacturing leadership — toward intellectual and innovation leadership in fashion.
